15 years ago on February 13, 2007 I was on my way to the local community college. I didn’t make it there but instead wound up at the Emergency Room. I was as close to dead or being a vegetable without actually being one. I am very thankful for my parents who spoke and stood up as me as well as my siblings and several family members. Fast forward 15 years and I have earned my AS and Bs in Accounting and my MS in Forensic Accounting with near perfect GPA’s. I have earned the CFE credential and working on my EA credential. I am an advanced quickbooks proadvisor and have my own business. I have wrote a book. I have bought myself a condo and have learned to drive. I have picked up paracycling and have competed internationally with hopes to make the Paralympic Team one day. I have met so many wonderful people to this day. I am helping to pave the way for equal rights for people with disabilities. It makes me wonder why doctors gave up hope on me 15 years ago? I think I showed them?
