Think before you act

or is it act before you think?

For most people it is think first and act later.

But for some with brain injuries it is the other way around.

For those acting first may indeed mean trouble but it might also be good.

Maybe its a registration list and the first ones on it get picked?

Or maybe it is something physical that involves a punishment like robbing a bank (Sorry I was watching a show that involved the detection of a bank robbery)

So either situation could end up in totally different outcomes.

If it is a negative outcome how will you deal with it?

For one thing, you will have learned something especially when you are in a similar situation.

You can make any negative event and turn it in a positive event. It’s up to you!

I admit it, I act before I think. Sometimes it can be a bad thing but I get upset about it for a short while and apologize for my action.

However when the opportunity to apply for a position with an organization that I adore came available, I didn’t think first and applied for it even though it is over 900 miles away in a different state. If I get it, I will have to find a new doctor, a new dentist, and a new place to live. But I will also have to sell my condo. On the bright side, I will be able to ride outside more! I’ll figure things out if necessary.

And then this afternoon as I was leaving TLS Veterans I was checking my email. A few minutes passed and I got notification that I got a new message from WWP (Wounded Warrior Project). I usually wait to check this until later on but I looked at it,

and boy was I glad that I did!

The second event listed was a Private Tour of Lambeau Field (Green Bay, WI) with WWP.

I immediately registered and I am waiting to hear if it was confirmed.

Not realizing it, it is on a Thursday starting during when I work. I’ll have to figure that out when I know for sure.
