There may come a time when you have to accept whatever it may be and move forward.
However that doesn’t mean that you will completely forget about the old.
Some tasks may be imbedded in our brain. Some things we just know how to do even if it has been a while.
This can be a blessing in disguise no matter what happens.
Some tasks may need to be altered to achieve the end results.
However this should not stop you.
Keep at it and you may just surprise yourself.
I played clarinet starting in Middle School (7th grade) up until High School Graduation. I played off and on after that and I hadn’t played for a couple years. I was cleaning up today and ran across my clarinet.
I decided to put it together and try it out. By my amazement I was still able to get a couple notes out. Anything that is fingered with the left hand was fairly simple to get out (middle C to B flat and high G to high C) but notes involving the right hand were a struggle. Yes I was in that age with BSB, NSync, 98*, etc)
What are some of your forgotten talents and have you tried to go back to them?

Wow reading your post just reminded me so many of my school memories. I was a debater back in school. And was very active in a couple of other things. But later in life, especially in my university, I just completely lost myself. In fact now I would freak out if I had to get on a stage. I wish I could just relive my school days.

Honestly, I never get a chance. But if I ever get it. I would grasp that opportunity for sure. Because I just felt, thankfully because of your post, that I really love being on stage. Thank you for sharing this post.

I also played clarinet in the high school band for about four years! I doubt I could even remember a single note these days…

Nope. I do have a clarinet packed away in a box here somewhere. Maybe I should dig it out on the weekend.
