Where do I belong?

i-can-and-i-will-quote-1

I have posted this  question before but it still lingers in my mind.

Do you know where you belong?

How can it help you?

I’m a 13 year survivor of an accident that nearly killed me and I am still trying to answering that.

I have let go of those that knew me before because it wasn’t worth the energy to try to hold onto them.

At the same time I have a hard time with people now, most just don’t understand me or the troubles I have to deal with almost daily.

I am smarter than most and people immediately think they know more than me. They interpret brain injury as something like a retard. I am sorry but that is just wrong! I may be slower in some things but how many of you have taken a college level calculus class and gotten the highest grade?

How many of you have taught yourself college level knowledge up through a Master’ s degree within a virtual world?

I have trouble with speaking and I can’t even begin to tell you the number of times that I have been hung up from employers on the phone.

Some of you may think you understand but in reality many of you simply do not.

Each of us is unique and sometimes trying to make it in a world that isn’t made for you can be quite difficult.

Do what you can, bitch and complain as needed, and try to make it an even playing field.

  1. “Trying to make it in a world that usn’t made for you.’ So true and I feel the same way, though my disabilities are different. I don’t seem to fit anywhere either. And I have no friends either. No, people do not understand.
