Sometimes I wonder why I do what I do,
sometimes I wonder why others just don’t understand,
sometimes I wonder why others try to control me and make decisions for me,
sometimes I wonder why I have to “impress” others just to feel like I fit in,
sometimes I wonder why I can’t just do,
sometimes I wonder why I put up with what I put up.
I do what I do:
so that people learn about not what to do nor how to act.
so that people with disabilities get an equal chance at society.
so people like me have the courage and understanding to know that it is possible.
so that people don’t underestimate the power and ability of people like me.
Many of us are not raised around people with varying disabilities. Someone has to stand up for those who have no voice.
It might as well be me, I am part German and Italian after all š
I will stand up for those who have no voice no matter what their situation, disability, economic status, gender, religion or race.
