Unwanted

Each of us have our own talents

our own likes and dislikes

our own fashion choices

and of course our own food choices.

We make do with what we have and we do what we can.

There usually is no better option.

But what do we do if something is disliked and almost completely out of our ability to change it?

We of course work at it and hope that something good will come out of it.

It may or it may not.

I was served pureed fish when I was at the rehabilitation institute of Chicago. It was the nastiest thing ever and ever since I have not touched fish.

I can usually do ok with limiting myself on this one restriction.

However last night as an appetizer there were bacon wrapped scallops. I couldn’t hear what it was so I took one and ate it not realizing it was fish. No wonder it tasted different to me and I am not the type of person to spit it out.

Then dinner came………

On it the plate was 3 large pieces of shrimp, steak, veggies, and potato. I could eat the steak so I wasn’t too worried.

However when I cut into the steak it was oozing red. That I couldn’t do. Finally took a piece from the outside and was able to take a bite but didn’t want anymore of that,

Ok on to dessert. I first saw ice cream (spumoni) and I am not much of an ice cream liker (Hurts my teeth). Finally they brought out a plate of cannoli’s, cookies, cream puffs, and other desserts. So I ate plenty of those.

Now back to my diet after a week off; I now have to loose several more than before.

Overall though it was a great time and loads of fun!

Unwanted or not trying?
