Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do

Not every condition makes every situation possible. You may just have to roll with it and hope for the best.

Life isn’t perfect. If it was then how was electricity founded, silly putty created, and chocolate chip cookies were created?

Challenges arise when the situation has conditions not optimal for success. You just need to push through it. Hopefully you will finish the task at hand. If you don’t finish, then you at least know you tried!

The heat and humidity has returned to Upper Illinois. A few nights ago I began experiencing pain in my knee that made it difficult to walk on it. The conditions at the time just sucked!

A few months ago I had signed up for a 29 mile bike ride. I wasn’t about to not do it because of the ability to see people who I only see once or twice a year.

Not 5 miles into it, the person I rode with had a flat tire and we were both dripping with sweat. 15 minutes later, he was taken to the rest stop to get it fixed and I rode the mileage to the rest stop alone.

It was about 15 miles remaining from the rest step until the end. The heat and humidity increased but that didn’t stop me, I was on a mission. 2 miles out and we had to stop because my leg was running up against the frame. We found a bandaid to cover it but that flew off because it couldn’t stick to the wet skin. The last 2 miles or so was full of rolling hills of grades up to 6%! I blew a couple of stop signs but thankfully there was no incoming traffic.

We finished the ride in just over 2 hours and after I got the trike in the car, I suddenly felt sick. Stupid me decided to get some food. I waited a while before leaving to drive the hour home.

Challenges simply suck and sometimes you just need to push through them in order to finish. Finish and you will look back and be proud of yourself!
