When doctors said that I wouldn’t live, I did.
When doctors said that I wouldn’t walk again, I did.
When doctor’s said I wouldn’t walk with a cane, I did.
When doctors thought I shouldn’t go back to school, I did and got the highest grade in my calculus class.
When doctors said I wouldn’t be able to drive, I did.
When doctors thought I wouldn’t be able to manage money, I did.
When doctors thought I wouldn’t be able to work, I did.
When doctors thought I wouldn’t be able to ride a bike, I did.
Do you notice “I did” in every single sentence? Most activities are possible (I wouldn’t attempt sky diving or becoming a hire wire performer)
Sure some of the above require some modification to achieve it but that should not stop you. I am a doer and refuse to take no for an answer. I probably got that from my mom? I am the current day version of the ‘YES’ man. Hey, a girl has gotta do what a girl has to do.
Riding a bike was impossible because of the balance. So I made it possible by learning to ride a tricycle, a bike with two back wheels.
Driving a car seemed impossible because I have limited coordination especially on the right side of my body. I made it possible by driving with a spinner knob that allows me to control it with one hand.
It may be difficult for some activities but I bet if you put your mind to it, you will achieve it. It may not be the normal process for such activity but adapt it to your abilities.
Are you doing all that you can do to be a YES man?
